Review: Essie Nail Polish in Van D'Go

Essie Nail Polish
in Van D'Go

Cost: £8.95 but i got mine for £5 from Jo :)

My Thoughts: I was never very keen on the idea of paying nearly £9 for a nail polish but always liked the look of some of the Essie colours. The second Jo said on Twitter she had Van D'Go for sale for £5 i jumped at the chance to get it :) I'm 100% happy i did and now i have tried this i think they are worth the £8.95 price tag! The colour is perfect for spring and i already received compliments on it just on the first day of wearing it :)

Where you can buy: The only place i know of is ASOS so i would advise heading to google!

Would i re-purchase: Yes :) I'm interested in other colours and would possibly buy a back-up of this

Overall Score: 8/10

Topshop Make Up Haul

Are you sick of seeing what everyone has bought from the new Topshop launch yet?? I'm not :)

I only picked up one item because I ordered online when Topshop were offering free delivery. I got the blush in Flush.

It's a very pretty bright pink (possibly with the tiniest undertone of orange/peach??) which blends out to a really pretty natural pink. Everyone seemed to be buying Neon Rose but when saw Holly review this, I knew this colour would suit me better!

when I first bought it, it was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, so I have included a picture next to a mac blush so you can kind of compare the size if you are also ordering online before checking them out in store.
I couldn't really get a good swatch because of lighting, but it's a really pretty colour. A lot of people have said the Topshop blushes are really the stand out products from the whole collection, so i'm glad it was my first purchase :)

There are still loads of other things i want to pick up, especially from the spring/summer line before it gets discontinued (i think it's on sale for 3 months before the next one) so let me know if you have bought something you really like!

What have you been buying from Topshop??

Lip Combo - Playboy & Benefit

You may have seen these two products creep up in my recent April Favourites, and i said that they looked really nice together so i thought i would show them. This is the result of rummaging through my collection and picking out the products i never use any more ... i recommend you do this ... you never know what you will come up with :)

Lipstick = Playboy Lipstick in Miss December (108)
Lip Gloss = Benefit Her Glossiness in Who Are You Wearing?

I really like how they look together, and i think next time i go to superdrug i might just check out some more of the playboy lipsticks because they are surprisingly nice!

Review: Mac Mineralize Blush in Rhapsody In Two

Mac Mineralize Blush
in Rhapsody In Two (from the Too Fabulous collection)

Cost: £17.50

My Thoughts: On my skin, this is a lot more like a highlighter than a blush. It comes out as a lovely shimmery product a lot like my Soft & Gentle MSF. The colours blend really nicely as one, but when I try to apply them individually, I see very little difference in colour on my face. The swatches below however tell a different story. If you are after a very pigmented blush, i don't think this is what you are looking for, but if you want something light and shimmery for the spring/summer months, go and check this out if you still can.

Where you can buy:
www.maccosmetics.co.uk
mac counters
mac stores

Would I re-purchase: probably not, but i am interested in some of the permanent mineralize blushes

Overall Score: 7/10

A Little Haul :)

I know i usually wait until the end of the month to do a haul, but i thought i would share what i picked up on Saturday with you now :)

I got InStyle with the free nails inc. polish in Mink which i think is probably going to be used a lot within the next few weeks :)

I got St. Moriz which i know i am like 6 months late on this band waggon but i found a shop in my town that finally stocked it :) Even if it was £4.00 when loads of other people can get it for like £2.00 :P

And then i picked up a W7 blusher and bronzer box which is basically a big rip off of Benefit's 10 box. This only cost me like £4 so i am willing to give it a try before i go out and spend £23.50 on the benefit one! They also had a bronzer with like a leopard print pattern in it a lot like this Too Faced one which comes in the same size box and is also only £4. i think i might go back in a few days and pick that one up too :)

If the W7 blusher/bronzer turns out to be okay i would happily go and pick a few up if anyone was interested. I have been thinking about setting up a blog where i go out and buy cheap products like this and sell them because the shop i get this sort of stuff from is filled with discount make-up that i figured maybe some people are interested is :)
