NOTD - Essie in Super Bossa Nova

Super Bossa Nova was one of the four nail polishes I received from the lovely Christine in our make-up swap. I have to say straight away, I think Essie is possibly my favourite nail polish brand. I currently own 6 of them but I cannot wait to get more :D

I'm not very good at describing colours but I would say Super Bossa Nova is a hot Purple-y Pink with amazing pink, purple and maybe a little blue shimmer. I think if you would like a better description you are best off checking out this post from scrangie, my favourite nail polish blogger or this post by Temptalia. I find it only needs two coats which is impressive for Essie as most of their polishes are known for being quite sheer.

This is my very poor attempt and try to capture the amazing shimmer in this polish. It is just such a beautiful colour and so perfect for summer. However I think for my this is the kind of colour I would prefer to wear on my toes rather than my fingers, but taking pictures of my feet just feels strange :P

WAH Nails Inspiration

Another Nail Polish post :) Seriously, I just cant help myself :)

After seeing these nail art designs in the recent issue of Elle Magazine I was completely inspired by the colours and decided to take some inspiration from Leanne's post to come up with my design.

Royal Wedding Nails

I'm back bitches :) Watching the royal wedding this morning has put me in such a good mood that I thought I would get my act together and write a blog post as it has been quite a while since I have done so. I decided to paint my nails with a Union Jack theme, and this is how they turned out :)

I think the main reason for my not blogging as much was simply not really having the money to buy new products to blog about but I recently got a new job so hopefully you will be seeing more posts from me in the future :)

NOTD - Barry M Nail Paint in Dusky Mauve

I've been buying loads of nail polishes but not really showing any of them so I thought it was time to start doing some regular NOTD posts. The first is Barry M's Dusky Mauve.

Charlotte over at Lipglossing did an amazing comparison post of this nail polish with the Chanel Paradoxal. Check that out here

It is such a beautiful colour when it catches the light but when you can't see the purple shimmer, it still makes a really nice winter-y colour. The picture is of two coats which is normal for most Barry M polishes to get a good opaque colour.

NOTD - Barry M Nail Paint in Mushroom

Compared to the Ice Cream Shades, i felt like Mushroom wasn't really getting alot of attention, and after purchasing it i can kind of see why. Although the formula is great and this picture is just with one coat, The colour it's self is far too plain and just brown. I was expecting a little more Taupe-y

NOTD - Barry M Nail Paint in Strawberry Ice Cream

I've bought quite a few new nail polishes recently so decided to do a few NOTD posts. This is one of my favourites from the ones I bought:

If i remember correctly, this is two coats. It has quite a jelly like finish to it which makes it a little sheer. It is very similar to Barry M's Baby Pink which is one of my favourites of all time :)

NOTD - Avon Nailwear Pro in Vintage Blue

Last time my mum put an Avon order through I picked up this beautiful pastel blue nail polish called Vintage Blue:

It's the palest blue I own and looks great with a really summery outfit. I am generally a big fan of Avon Nailwear Pro polishes and there are a couple more shades that have recently been released for summer that I would love to pick up. Thee pictures show 2 coats to create a really nice opaque finish.

Have you tried these polishes? What do you think of them?

BYS - Lila Bliss

You may have seen that I picked up this nail polish sometime last week when I went to Lincoln. It was a right bargain at (I think) £1.69 for 14ml :)

The colour looks to me like a mix of pink, lilac and maybe a spot of grey. It's really pretty and is so much more that just a regular pink polish. I don't know if I will pick up more from this brand because none of the other colours really stood out to me, but I will be keeping an eye out for different colours next time I go.

Barry M - Berry Ice Cream

This seems to be the Nail Polish of the moment, so i figured i would to a NOTD with it :)

Barry M polishes seem to be best when they are brand new, as i find they get a little gloopy after a while, so applying this was really nice. I'm wearing 2 coats and i think it gives nice coverage. I also LOVE the colour :) you know i'm a sucker for pastels at the minute.

I dont really do NOTD's because when i paint my nails, its all scratched off within a few hours. Seriously its like an addiction and i hate it! But this is just to show you the colour :) i think im gonna buy some fake nails and paint them so i can show you my colours without wrecking my nails with all the scratching.

Boots 17 high gloss nail polish.

In all honest this nail polish probably has the best consistency i have ever tried! but i haven't really tried alot of expensive brands, so they could be better

I don't tend to really do these posts because i don't really paint my nails much but i was watching Friends earlier and got a bit bored so i thought I'd whip out my Wild Lilac ... and this is how it turned out

Nails of the Day

I've actually had this on now for about 3 days so please do excuse the chipping ... i get bored and nervous in exams and it seems to be my nail polish that suffers the most because of this.

It from Collection 2000 out of their Hot Looks range and it think it retails for about £1.50 - £2.00 so if you are on a budget but want to start a collection i would really really recomend these polishes. They come in a really wide range of colours and are perfect if you want to paint your fingers or toes a different colour every day. The colour i used is 12 Minx.
