Tag - Summer Besties

I've seen a few people on YouTube do this tag so I thought I would give it a go to show you the kind of products I have been wearing during the slightly warmer weather :)

Best Lip Product - Any Lip Balm

To be honest, any lip balm will do in the summer. I don't really bother with lipsticks or lipglosses because they just seems little too fussy when it is hot. The ones pictured are from Mac and The Body Shop but I also really like Vaseline, Carmex, and, well just anything that keeps my lips moisturizer really :)

Best Blush - Mac Well Dressed

Although many people will say cream blush is the best product to use during the summer, the one ones I own are the Topshop ones which are a cream to powder formula, so they don't really make much difference. However Mac Well Dressed was the first Mac product I ever bought and I think it is perfect for both summer and winter :)

Best Liquid Face Product - Nars Sheer Glow

Although I would love to say "oh, in the summer I love this tinted moisturiser" it's sadly just not true. I don't feel confident enough with my skin to wear something light and sheer so I stick with my Sheer Glow to provide me with a pretty medium coverage and a really nice glow to the skin :)

Best Powder Face Product - Soft & Gentle MSF and Bronzer in Golden

Ok so I may have slightly cheated but these two products looks amazing together. I don't like to wear fake tan on my face so the bronzer helps to match my face to the rest of my body and the MSF just adds a lovely sheen over areas like cheek bones, brow bones and along the nose.

Best Nail Polish - Essie in Sand Tropez

I only recently got this nail polish but the second I applied it, I fell in love with it! It is such a lovely neutral that goes with just about every outfit for every occasion (I even wore it to my prom this year). I think if I get the chance when the weather is nice I will try to post a NOTD post of this polish in natural sunlight. But if you are interested in purchasing it, it is currently on sale at ASOS at the minute here

Best Tanning Product - St Moriz & Maybelline Gradual Tanner

Ok another cheat but I just cant help myself. I like to apply St Moriz every two or three days,and then in between I like the apply the gradual tanner to keep my skin soft and to maintain the colour. And the best thing about these products is that the mousse only cost me £2.99 and the Moisturizer cost me £2.49 :)

Best Eye Product - CoverGirl Lash Blast

This is honestly one of my all time favourite mascara's. I actually prefer the waterproof one during the summer but I have completely ran out of that now :( I am however currently in the process of a swap with the lovely Christine to get my hands on another tube of this mascara before it runs out :)

Best Accessories - Toms

I only got these a few weeks ago but I absolutely love them and practically live in them! I can't want to get them in loads of other colours like white, black and navy (adventurous i know :P) And I also really like the look of the crochet ones for the summer :)

Best Clothing - Denim Shorts

I just think they are really easy to wear with everything and can either be dressed down in the daytime with like toms or converse and a casual t-shirt, or dressed up at night with heels (or wedges in my case because heels are just a no go) and a nice top.

I actually forgot to take a picture of the Best Hair Products, but during the summer it just has to be Batiste :) My favourite scent is the tropical one :)

Tag - Likes, Loves & Hates

The beautiful Phoebe tagged me for this and I will admit a lot of the time when people tag me for things I forget to do them but this one I really liked the sound of.

The 12 Likes

1. I like cities. I've never really felt settled with the idea of living in the countryside for the rest of my life.
2. I like stand up comedy. I once dribbled at a Rhod Gilbert joke because i was laughing so much i couldn't close my mouth :) It was easily the best feeling in the world.
3. I like American TV shows. Especially Grey's Anatomy, 90210, Gossip Girl, Nurse Jackie, Scrubs, The OC, Big Bang Theory, House, ANTM, The City, The Hills, Glee, Greek and HIMYM.
4. I like driving. I always thought it would take me ages to learn and I would be too scared to do it properly, but I don't think I'm too bad :)
5. I like make-up. but i think that might have been obvious :)
6. I like fashion design. At the minute (and for the past 6 years) it has been what i want to study at university
7. I like the summer weather, but the winter fashion. I just love wearing scarfs and gloves :)
8. I like fashion magazines. A lot! I just don't know how much space i have left to keep collecting them
9. I like having money. I like the freedom it provides :)
10. I like shopping in big make-up rooms in department stores. Just being surrounded by make-up and people who love make-up is a great feeling. I think my favourite is Selfridges in London!
11. I like Chinese food. I could eat it forever :)
12. I like the Internet. I think it's the best thing ever invented :)

1. I love Brian. Yes, Brian is my cat and i would quite happily become a crazy cat lady for him :)

The 8 Hates

1. I hate racism. Seriously NOTHING pisses me off more. It makes me sick!
2. I hate horror films. Why would you watch something that you know is going to mess with your head??
3. I hate that i'm not yet old enough to vote. I really want Labour to win the election :)
4. I hate being ignored ... but
5. I also hate being bothered when i want to be left alone
6. I hate when people get involved with shit that does not involve them or does not need their input. If you seek drama then you deserve everything bad that you get. Just learn to keep you stupid mouths SHUT! :)
7. I hate the sea, which is crazy because i like like 100 metres from the sea. But seeing pictures of the ocean makes me cry. I just cannot handle it. They scare the crap out of me. I cant really explain it. It's just the thought of being stuck in the middle of the sea :S
8. I hate how long this post took to write. It's really difficult to think of the things i like love and hate. But i know i say "i love" and "i hate" about a million times a day!

2009: The best and worst

For me, 2009 had been the year of make-up. In 2008 i was just starting to get into it and buying random things from superdrug to try and work out what suited me the best. 2009 has been more about knowing what suits me and trying to find the best quality products. It was also the year i started buying mac :)



This post is basically focused on 2 products. One is the best thing i bought this year. The other is the worst.



The results are:

The Worst = Stila Lipcolor in Laurel.


Beautiful colour. Beautiful Formulation. Beautiful Packaging. The worst tasting lipstick i have ever owned! It makes me feel sick and i cant wear it for more than a minute! It tastes like plastic and it is sooooo gross!



The Best = Mac MSF Natural



Easily the best powder i have ever used. I have always had to set my foundation with a powder and was quite annoyed by this because it usually meant matting out my glow from the foundation. This powder however is mineralized so it has a little big of shimmery glow in it so i can set my make-up and still have the texture i want :)

Five things under £5

I saw this tag on Sweetcheeks Beauty and Fashion and because she tagged anyone that wanted to do it i figured i would give it a go :) Basically these are 5 things that i have and that i really like which all cost under £5.00.

These are my 5 things :)

Barry M Nail Paint in Mint Green - £2.95

Barry M are probably my favourite brand for drugstore nail polishes. They have such an amazing colour range that they are updating all the time and for £3.00 you really can't complain. I chose this colour because it's been really popular since the whole mac peppermint patti and the chanel Jade :)

Boots 17 Eyeshadow in Statuesque - £3.22

I'm am soo happy i bought this eyeshadow. It is easily one of my favourite colours i own and i can't wait to get some more net time i go to boots :) I think the colour pay off is just as good as mac's but for a fraction of the price!

Carmex Lip Balm - about £2.50

I dont remember exactly what i paid for this but i think it was about £2.50. You can apply this in the morning and it keeps your lips fabulous all day (until about lunch time when you get something to eat) I let my friend use mine at the beginning of the week and she has used it every morning since. She loves it :D

Barry M Kohl Pencil Liner in 1 (Black) - £2.95

without a doubt my favourite Kohl liner i have ever use. It so smooth and doesn't tug on your eyes at all. I used to have alot of the colours (i think i had about 10 in total) but when i condesed by collection i got rid of them all except this one and my silver one. The silver one is perfect on the waterline in the morning because it works just like a while eyeliner by making your eyes look bigger and more awake but silver also gives you a little sparkle :)

Avon Solutions Pure Pore-Fection Cleaner - £3.00

This is my favourite facial cleaners i have ever used! It is just so perfect for my skin and so cheap :) If you are looking for a cleaner then i would recommend this one. It is currently on sale online for £2.50! I have a review of it somewhere on my blog if you would like further information.

Also what do you think of the dotty background to all of my pictures?? I wanted something to brighten then up a little bit and i think, if you like it, i will try to use it as a background to all of my pictures :)

YouTube & BlogSpot made me do it!

I saw this really cool video by Sardun1 where she named the things that she only bought because of the good things she had heard about the product from people on youtube. I am extending mine to include posts that i have also read on peoples blogs.

This was my first ever mac purchase and i bought it because Holly said it was her favourite blush and i love her video's :)

I wasn't really into mac the first time the StarFlash shadows came out but when this colour was re promoted it seemed like everyone was either buying it or saying that they already had it and loved it. I think this post from Cat convinced me to get it.

I don't think there was a particular post or video that made me get this, i just heard that it was good and i really like benefit so i bought it :)

Everyone was talking about this nail polish being the perfect dupe for MAC's Peppermint Patti but i didn't decide to get it until i saw this picture on Lollipop26's blog.

I hadn't bought a Collection 2000 nail polish in years but where i saw this from Holly i knew i needed this one!
There was soo much buzz about both of these a few months ago and i think Holly & Hele convinced me to get them

I already have one of these when i saw this video by Sirvinya but now i have 12 :S kinda got addicted!


I think just about everyone either has this or has tried it at some point, therefore i have no idea where i first heard about it. I like the mascara but I'm not too keen on the brush.

I think i first heard of NYX lipsticks from lollipop26 when she made this video. I thought that because there were like 90p each from the site i got them from i would pick up a few :) I don't think my colour choices were very good but if i ever get a chance to swatch other colours i would defo buy more!

If i hadn't seen this video i would have probably never discovered this amazing lipstick because i very rarely look at the Rimmel counters. It is the only lipstick i have ever completely used up and as soon as i can find more i will be buying them!! Thank you Sabrina :)

You have no idea how thankful i am to Lil for sowing me the inside of her bag so i could see this little treasure! for years i have used Vaseline but now i have this i don't think i will ever go back! thank you for this post!

PinkieCharm has always been one of my favourite YouTubers because i feel like she has reviewed soo many products that everything she says must be right :) i remember hearing her talking about these lipglosses in this video and although i couldn't find the shade she has :( i picked up 3 others. They are by no means my favourite lipglosses but i do like them a lot and got them quite cheap so i'm happy :)

I heard about the Natural Collection's blushes through this video on PinkLemonadexo's channel. Although she didn't feature this shade in her video i thought it was the nicest one in boots. I don't really like this and never use it (i am currently selling it on my blog sale) but i don't regret buying it because it was only £1.95.
